Remote Desktop spanning two monitors

If you participate in the Windows Vista beta program and you use Remote Desktop, then you might want to have a look at the new RDP client. There's a version for XP SP2 and 2003 SP1.

The main feature that interested me was that it now supports spanning multiple monitors. I've installed it on my XP SP2 box at home, and I can now connect to my XP SP2 box at work and have my desktop span across both of my monitors! I didn't even need to install the new client on my work box to get this either.

The resolution limit is up to 4096x2048

Where can one obtain this Windows XP version? I have a 1920*1200 widescreen LCD, but I'm stuck with black bands down the sides thanks to the limit of 1600*1200 in the current version...

The Windows XP version was published to the Vista Downloads area on 6th May 2006. If you have access to the Vista Beta program, then you should be able to get it here.

Is there any way to get hold of it without having access to the Vista Beta program, or to gain access to the Vista Beta program?

I'm not sure. You can get Vista RC1 through MSDN or TechNet or the "Customer Preview Program", which apparently will be accepting new members shortly.

However I'm not sure if the XP client is on the Vista ISO/DVD.
